Where to Go on a Walk in Antalya?
What are the best places for hiking in Antalya?
Because, clearly, Antalya isn’t only the all inclusive resorts its famous for. Antalya is so much more. It’s a bustling city with a very pretty old town. There are mountains and the sea. And there are cool historical sites.
1. Lycian Way

DISTANCE: up to your preference
Lycian Way is the longest of Turkey’s hiking trails. In total the trail is over 310 miles / 500 km in length. The trail starts on the outskirts of Antalya, near the Tunektepe Teleferik Tesisleri cable car station. Everyone thinking of hiking in Turkey, learns of this hiking trail. At first – near Antalya – you are walking on the road, once in a while passing by some local people’s houses.
Just an hour of walking later you already forget that you are so close to a busy and bustling city. You are surrounded by mountains and the village life.

There is very little of traffic on this road, so it’s also safe for cycling.
2. Scenic Hike Next to Cable Car Station

DISTANCE: around 4 miles / 6.4 km in total
The trail is located right on the outskirts of the city. It’s very easy to follow, and is very easy to get to using public transportation. So, if you’re up for some small adventure while in Antalya, and you love scenic views, then this Antalya hiking trail is the right thing for you to check out. There are 2 other hiking trails nearby.
It’s a gravel road all the way to the top.

3. Konayaaltı Trail

Another trail in the same area as both above mentioned.
Konayaaltı trail is a part of the Lycian Way, like a small extra (as it’s a loop). It starts on the same gravel road like the above mentioned scenic hike leading to the top of the mountain.
4. Konyaalti Beach

DISTANCE: 8.6 miles / 14 km (from one end to another and back)
Konyaalti is the most popular beach in Antalya city.
It’s a long beach which makes it also a great place for walking in Antalya. Walking from one end to another, and back, can also take you a full day — if you stop for some drinks, ice cream and lunch on the way.
There is also a bike path next to the Konyaalti beach.
5. Atatürk Kültür Parkı

DISTANCE: around 4.66 miles / 7.5 km one way
Atatürk Kültür Parkı is a great place because of two reasons.
It’s close to the old town and it offers beautiful views of the Konyaalti Beach area, the most popular beach in Antalya. Situated both close to the beach and in walking distance from the old town, it’s a very cool place to go for a walk in Antalya. It’s also a great place to hide from the sun, if and when it gets too hot for you.
You can go for cycling and walking there.

6. Walk From Antalya Old Town to Falez Park

DISTANCE: around 4 miles / 6.4 km in total
It’s just a lovely place to go for a walk in Antalya.
It starts right from the old town in the city center, and offers beautiful views of the sea and the nearby mountains. It’s especially nice here shortly before the sunset and right after the sunrise. For most part it goes along the coast, but you’re on top of a cliff, and there’s no beach here in this part of the city.

7. Area of the Lower Duden Waterfall

DISTANCE: up to your preference
There is a beautiful waterfall in Antalya.
It’s called Lower Duden waterfall, and it’s situated on the outskirts of the city. Since the waterfall is right on the coast and falls into the Mediterranean sea, it’s both a beautiful place to go on a walk to and also a very unique place to visit in Antalya. Yes, you can also go on a walk from Antalya old town all the way to this waterfall.
There is a bike path all the way to Duden Waterfall.

8. Perge Ancient City

DISTANCE / TIME: minimum of 2 hours
This place is both big and impressive.
Not surprisingly it’s the top archeological site in Antalya.
You can easily spend hours walking around this place. There is also a short trail going to the top of the hill next to this ancient city. You can take this trail to see the city from above. In 2021, the entrance fee is 50 TL.

Book Your Trip Like a PRO
1. Book Your Flight. Find cheap flights using Kiwi.com, Momondo.com. Or subscribe to Dollar Flight Club, if you don’t want to be searching for the flights yourself. Kiwi currently is my first choice.
2. Book Your Accommodation. Booking.com, Agoda.com and Airbnb. I use Booking and Agoda at least a dozen times a year, and Airbnb – when looking for a long-term stay. My best tip is to ALWAYS compare the price. Sometimes the same hotel is cheaper on Booking.com, other times – on Agoda. Always compare the price!
3. Buy Your Travel Insurance. Ekta and SafetyWings are two companies I can recommend. Ekta offers some extra benefits, that will be important for those doing some higher risk activities (make sure to choose the right plan!), while SafetyWings is better for digital nomads. SafetyWings is also very affordable.
