All the noises, traffic, people, steep and narrow streets.
It can quickly get overwhelming in Istanbul, especially if you aren’t used to it. That’s just one of the reasons to love places like this one, where you can find a little bit of piece. Situated a short walk away from Taksim Square, Craftsmen Park offers both a bit of relaxation and beautiful views of the Bosphorus.
Go there from Taksim or by following our easy walk in Istanbul route.

Craftsmen Park, Istanbul: Basics
The park is small, and there are only a couple of benches.
But you can still sit on the grass there, even if there aren’t any free benches, and enjoy your time watching the Bosphorus. Watching the ships coming and going from the Black Sea.
LOCATION:
DISTANCE (from Taksim): 1.5 miles / 2.4 km
That’s in total — going there from the Taksim square and back.
TIPS: be prepared that it’s a steep walk down the hill, and on the way back – up the hill. Just like in so many other places in Istanbul.
Craftsmen Park, Istanbul: Our Experience
It was on our first week in Istanbul.
We hadn’t yet been to any parks in the city, and it felt like there aren’t any relaxing places for walks in Istanbul. It seemed like all there is on the European side of Istanbul is buildings, built almost on top of each other. At that moment we hadn’t yet been to the Asian side of Istanbul.
So what a pleasant surprise it was to find this little beauty here, just a short walk away from the Taksim.
Here are a few photos from our walk on that day.

Have you been to Istanbul? Did you check out any parks in Istanbul? What was your experience?
Book Your Trip Like a PRO
1. Book Your Flight. Find cheap flights using Kiwi.com, Momondo.com. Or subscribe to Dollar Flight Club, if you don’t want to be searching for the flights yourself. Kiwi currently is my first choice.
2. Book Your Accommodation. Booking.com, Agoda.com and Airbnb. I use Booking and Agoda at least a dozen times a year, and Airbnb – when looking for a long-term stay. My best tip is to ALWAYS compare the price. Sometimes the same hotel is cheaper on Booking.com, other times – on Agoda. Always compare the price!
3. Buy Your Travel Insurance. Ekta and SafetyWings are two companies I can recommend. Ekta offers some extra benefits, that will be important for those doing some higher risk activities (make sure to choose the right plan!), while SafetyWings is better for digital nomads. SafetyWings is also very affordable.
