    Where to Stay in Singapore?

What’s the best place to stay in Singapore?

What’s the best area in Singapore to stay (for a tourist)? Singapore is a small and well-connected country. Public transportation in Singapore is great. It’s cheap, good and efficient. Apart from that – traffic jams are almost non-existent in Singapore. Leading to the fact that as long as you aren’t too far away from a bus stop or metro station getting around in Singapore shouldn’t not be a problem.

    • If you want to stay in the best area in Singapore book a hotel close to the Marina Bay and Central Business District of Singapore.
    • If you have only one or two days in Singapore, do the same. Stay somewhere close to the Marina Bay. For example, in Kallang, Rochor, Chinatown or Little India. And make the most of your two days or one day in Singapore.
    • Where is the cheapest place to stay in Singapore? Geylang, Singapore’s red-light district, is the cheapest area close to the downtown, but some will suggest you to avoid it. I’ve stayed there myself personally a few times for several nights at a time and felt perfectly safe there. Little India isn’t expensive either. Do you want a cheap hotel in Singapore? Look in these two areas. Singapore on a budget — it’s doable.

Have you been to Singapore? Where did you stay in Singapore? What are the best hotels in Singapore (from your experience)?

    1. Book Your Flight. Find cheap flights using Kiwi.com, Momondo.com. Or subscribe to Dollar Flight Club, if you don’t want to be searching for the flights yourself. Kiwi currently is my first choice.

    2. Book Your Accommodation. Booking.com, Agoda.com and Airbnb. I use Booking and Agoda at least a dozen times a year, and Airbnb – when looking for a long-term stay. My best tip is to ALWAYS compare the price. Sometimes the same hotel is cheaper on Booking.com, other times – on Agoda. Always compare the price!

    3. Buy Your Travel Insurance. Ekta and SafetyWings are two companies I can recommend. Ekta offers some extra benefits, that will be important for those doing some higher risk activities (make sure to choose the right plan!), while SafetyWings is better for digital nomads. SafetyWings is also very affordable.
