Why Should You Care?
Why should you be using a special soap for camping?
Why not use the same soap like at home?
It’s very simple.
Because most likely the soap, shampoo or shower gel you are using at home has some possibly harmful ingredients. Something that may pollute the earth. Most of them have, by the way. Yeah, I know, it may sound strange, but that’s just how it is. Many of the chemicals that make them soooo good, and help them to be held on the shelves of the shops longer, are in fact bad for the nature.
And you don’t want to polute the planet, right?
Using Biodegradable Soap for Camping
What does biodegradable mean?
If it breaks down into water and carbon dioxide within 6 months, then it’s considered biodegradable.
To put it simply – if it completely disappears, then it’s biodegradable.
You see, it may take up to 6 months for all the ingredients to completely break down. And that’s one of the reasons why shouldn’t be using it in or next to any water source. Yes, despite the fact, that it’s eco friendly, you shouldn’t be using it in or near any water, lake or pond. Because that might be harmful for the environment.
Some 200 feet or 60 meters is considered a safe distance.

2. Book Your Accommodation
Booking.com, Agoda.com and Airbnb. I use Booking and Agoda at least a dozen times a year, and Airbnb – when looking for a long-term stay. My best tip is to ALWAYS compare the price. Sometimes the same hotel is cheaper on Booking.com, other times – on Agoda. Always compare the price!
3. Buy Your Travel Insurance
World Nomads and SafetyWings are two companies I can recommend. World Nomads offers some extra benefits, that will be important for those doing some higher risk activities, while SafetyWings is significantly cheaper. SafetyWings is only $9.25 / week.
